My name is Ionela (you would pronounce it Yonella but feel free to call me Yoni-I know, quite meaningful in sanskrit)
In case you’re wondering and as it’s the first question people ask me ALWAYS when they meet me, I am originally from Romania, from a small town in the south east but spent my uni days in the cool streets of the capital city, no…not Budapest, Bucharest haha
I don’t want to bore you with all the details but since you and I are friends now and friends share stories here’s a little snippet so you can get to know me a little bit. I’ve started this space as a venue for my ideas. I am lifestyle coach, a certified nutritionist who ran several online challenges where I brought communities together. I also teach bootcamp classes, practice yoga and love all things, health, wealth, mindfulness and wellbeing.
In the process of doing all this, I have discovered that I actually love talking to people, I love hearing their stories, I am so inspired & empowered by all the strong women in my communities both online and offline and aspire to one day inspire and influence many many gorgeous women around the globe. If you ask my dear friends…well I am already doing that!
I am lucky to be surrounded by strong women who have gone through a lot, have some great life stories and understand that strong women lift one another. Some are kick ass entrepreneurs and work every day to share their gifts with the world, others built gorgeous families, some are single mums who have this amazing power to raise their kids in such a beautiful way and others just like you want to make their dreams a reality. All these women have won my respect and admiration and have taught me many lessons but most of all I love them for always keeping it real.
And this is my aim too. I want to share all my learnings so far, I want to share my experiences with you in the hope that it will inspire you. My life is guided by many principles but I believe the greatest gift we all have as human beings is the ability to learn and constantly reinvent ourselves. Educating yourself, rebuilding yourself, always thinking of yourself as a work in progress from all aspects emotional, physical, spiritual is the most powerful gift to yourself. Experiencing life and constantly trying to be the best parts of yourself will bring you the fulfilment you seek.
Don’t get fooled… I am not perfect and I don’t want to be, nor should you. (Well…that’s so hard to say out loud coming from a recovering perfectionist). Always strive for progress, it the best you can do. Fear of failing with leave you paralysed for weeks, months and most time years. You and I both know life is messy, it never or very seldom is the way you envisage it to be and you know what? That’s fine…breath, let it go and trust that you are exactly where you should be and in Gabby’s Bernestein’s words: The Universe has your back.
I always felt like I was putting so much pressure on myself to be all those things others expecting me to be, to be perfect. But as Tim Ferriss says trying to please everyone else around you it’s guaranteed to displease the person who matters most: YOURSELF. That’s right, you matter most and not in a selfish way but in the way that if you’re not alright you can’t share all your beautiful gifts with others, you cannot give love, joy and positive vibes and we all want that, don’t we? The older we grow, the more we lose our childlike naivety, we become confined in boxes and accept the norms of our society, we simply forget to be free and forget that we are the creators of our own reality. Life happens for us, not against us. I know….it’s easy to forget that when you’re autopilot.
So I invite you in soul sister….let’s reinvent ourselves, let’s become stronger, kinder, more beautiful inside out and let’s be ourselves and own it…flaws and all.
